American Tournaments
American tournament, what’s that?
American tournaments are social doubles tennis tournaments that suit players of all standards. There is a simple scoring system designed to handicap stronger players/ pairings.
Each round is seven games and you get a point for every game you win. After each round pairings split up and move courts depending if you’ve won or lost.
There are normally seven rounds of play with a refreshment break, so it’s a full afternoon’s play… At the end of the tournament, the winner is the player with the most points.
How does the scoring system work?
First game is played from love all….
If you lose the first game you start the second at +15
If you lose the second you start at +30
And if you lose the third- no that’s it-you can only play from a max of +30
Then if you win the fourth- you’re back to +15
Sound complicated?
It’s not and there are always players on hand to help you!
How do I enter?
