Bromley LTC set for 2012 AEGON Team Tennis Campaign

This coming
Sunday (1st April) sees Bromley Lawn Tennis Club start their 2012 AEGON
Team Tennis Campaign with a home tie against Ipswich SC.
The tennis equivalent of the FA Premier League, Bromley were runners-up in 2011
and won the national title in 2010, 2009 and 2005.

With a
squad of current, former and aspiring professionals that include Kent No.1 and
Britain’s No.17 Sean Thornley, Jamie Delgado and Andrew Richardson (both former
top 5 British players), Bromley have an unrivalled record in the competition
and are looking to regain their national crown.

Bromley’s
new team captain and long term squad member Nick Cavaday (a former British top
20 player), showed confidence for his team’s prospects. “We will be contesting
seven very tough ties in our group matches over the next couple of months,
including a tie against
David
Lloyd Raynes
Park who are the current
national champions. We aren’t taking anything for granted but with twelve
talented players in our squad this year we are aiming to be at the Grand Finals
in
Bournemouth in July”.

Having lost
to Ipswich Sports Club last year, the Bromley team are seeking to avenge their
2011 defeat and start this year’s campaign on a winning note.

Play
starts at 12pm on Sunday at Bromley LTC,
Sandford Road and spectators are most
welcome.
